Creative Rhythm, Vol. 1., by Christian Bruni, is a drum book that can satisfy the needs of both beginners and those at an intermediate/advanced level. The book is structured with a precise logical and progressive order that gradually shows you how a rhythmic phrase can be enriched. The topics covered are fundamental and indispensable for the modern drummer; we move from fills to groove, from coordination to linear drumming, all of this always with the aim of developing as much musicality as possible.
The book presents a series of rhythmic phrases that are embellished in a step-by-step manner, starting with with a basic rhythm on the snare drum, to which is added accents, ghost notes, orchestrations around the kit, double strokes, and bass drum to create various grooves.
All chapters include videos lessons clearly demonstrating the concepts at different tempos.
Christian Bruni is a professional drummer and educator based in Budapest and Venice. He studied at B. Marcello Conservatory of Music in Venice and the Music Academy of Bologna. As an educator he teaches at Franco Rossi’s Modern Music Academy and the International Drum School in Budapest, and maintains a busy schedule of performing and recording.
