Rock Independence Pack 2

Part 2 of 3: In this series of packs, Joe Bergamini teaches the basics of rock Independence. These are the building blocks of your essential groove vocabulary in all rock and R&B styles.

In this pack, noted performer/educator/author Joe Bergamini shows you the basics of rock independence. The grooves presented here make up the basic building blocks of essential groove vocabulary for all straight-eighth-based styles, including rock, R&B, funk, metal, fusion, and gospel. The basic hi hat/ride patterns are presented over an unchanging bass and snare drum part for the 10 lessons in the pack. The pack concludes with summary lessons where Joe demonstrates the grooves one after another in time.

The packs in the series are graduated in difficulty, introducing a different independence element between the snare drum/bass drum and the riding hand at each step. This pack uses an eighth-note based snare drum and bass drum pattern, which is slightly more difficulty than pack 1 of the series.
