Fundamental Fills 2

This is Donny Gruendler’s Fundamental Fills Pack 2. Many drummers mistakenly think of a fill as a miniature drum solo. As Donny points out, a fill is actually a small connection between two sections of music. The idea behind this pack is to give you a catalog of solid, musical, and useful fills that will work in various styles. These fill concepts will allow you to create parts that work in a musical context and/or in a recording studio, whether playing with or without loops.

This pack focuses on applying right-hand lead sticking to some of the same rhythms learned in Fundamental Fills Pack 1. If you have trouble with these ideas, you might want to go back and check out the previous pack. The final three lessons show some creative drumset applications of a useful and popular rudiment, the six-stroke roll.
