Fundamental Fills 1

This is Donny Gruendler’s Fundamental Fills Pack 1. Many drummers mistakenly think of a fill as a miniature drum solo. As Donny points out, a fill is actually a small connection between two sections of music. The idea behind this pack is to give you a catalog of solid, musical, and useful fills that will work in various styles. These fill concepts will allow you to create parts that work in a musical context and/or in a recording studio, whether playing with or without loops.

The final two lessons in this pack take some of the fill concepts and convert them into tom-based grooves that work especially well while playing along with a loop or drum machine on a track.

This pack is followed by Donny’s Fundamental Fills Pack 2. Once you are comfortable with the ideas in pack 1, we recommend you go on and check out pack 2.
