Highway to Gaddism, by Neal “Bam” Feldman, covers essentials such as: sticking patterns, rudiments, weak hand builders, and much more. Drummers will improve their dexterity, accuracy, coordination, pocket, groove and speed.

A primer for drummers to familiarise and perform the motifs used in Gaddiments. This book takes the stickings and rudiments and divides them into simpler patterns and allows drummers to understand and begin to play the passages. While the original intent is to lead the drummers to Gaddiments, this book can be used on its own as instruction to reinforce the understanding and importance of the rhythms.

As a student and as a drum set teacher, Neal Bam’s book is an incredible collection of etudes. From the simplicity of the presentation to the left-hand lead orchestrations, this book will not disappoint. I use it as well as incorporating it into my curriculum with my students.
